Production Schedule

Production Schedule I will be filming the dance footage in many of my dance classes over the next few weeks. I am going to film the interview scenes once I have got all of the dance footage I need, so that I can plan what I would like my interviewees to talk about, however it will not be scripted exactly because I want it be be natural and get their own opinion, rather than me telling my interviewees what to say.  The interviews will be filmed on Thursday 7th and Saturday 9th December. I have planned to film on both days in case I don't manage to get it all filmed in the time I have available on the 7th. Thursday 16th November- I need to have some footage to start editing. Monday 18th December- First cut of documentary deadline.

Logistics and location sheets

Logistics & Location  I am going to film part of my documentary at the dance studio that I go to. The interview sections will be filmed at home with a green-screen behind the interviewee so that I can then add a suitable background in. I will also film some group dances at competitions however I will need to get someone else to film this for me because I am in the group dances, as well as the people who will feature in my documentary. - I will get one of my friends from dance to be in the interview sections of my documentary. - I am going to try and film it on my own but if I need help with anything, I could ask someone to help me.  - I will need a camera, a tripod and possibly some studio lights, depending on how much natural light there is at the time of filming. - The props that I may need are already at the dance studio, therefore I will just use what we have there rather than buying new items. Costume will be their regular dance wear for classes and the correct costumes

Target Audience

Target Audience My target audience is dancers, or people who are interested in dance. I think I would like my documentary to be shown on YouTube, because it is free for consumers to access and watch videos on which means that it may get more views than if it was on (eg) Netflix because even though many people have Netflix, you have to pay for it and more people stream videos on free sites such as YouTube. To ensure this is appealing to my target audience, I asked 20 of the dancers at my studio whether they use Netflix or YouTube more. 7 out of 20 have a Netflix account they they currently use, therefore the majority of my target audience questioned do not use Netflix. 20 out of 20 said that they use YouTube at least twice a week, if not more. 20 out of 20 said that they have watched a documentary about dance and that they would consider watching another one.

Storyboard & Shot List

Storyboard & Shots My documentary extract will be the first 5 minutes of the documentary. It will contain talking heads, direct cinema and narration. Most of my documentary will not be scripted, especially the interviews- I will just tell them what sort of things to talk about in their interview. When creating my script, I decided to write down the transitions and what will be on the screen- eg. direct cinema or talking heads.  Here is the storyboard that I created: Here is the shot list/ script that I created:
